| Hi! My name is Joy Kretzer. Owner and founder of "The Holland Hut". I am married to a wonderful man who's name is "Kelly". We also have a 10 year old daughter "Macey", a 6 year old son "KJ", and last but not least.....our 3 year old daughter "Katie". We live here in Pipe Creek, Texas. Located about 45 minutes West of San Antonio. We are located in the beautiful hill country of Texas. Besides our Hollands, we are a home for 1 quarter horse, 5 ponies, 1 miniature horse, 4 dogs, 4 cats, and 1 finch. Macey rides English and also show's her ponies and mini. So, we very busy with Horse Shows as well as Rabbit Shows. Our rabbitry consists of between 60 and 80 Hollands. We have been "Hollands Only" since 1995. Our barn is cooled and heated so it allows us to keep up our breeding program year round. I have decided to take some "time off" and "cut-back" on the amount of show's I attend per year. I now find with 3 children of a very young age, I am getting too worn down and etc, to go to so many show's and on Nov 4th, 2004, my mother was hit head on on her way to work as was given a less than 10% chance to survive. Well, she is a complete miracle and made it through everything after spending months in the hospital. Unfortunatly, both of my mothers legs were crushed beyong repair, so she lost both her legs. I have learned how in one breath your life can be turned upside down and I have learned to slow down and appreciate the time I have with my family. I have decided to attend only select show's, including Nationals and Covention each year, and focus on breeding alot more and trying to get caught up on my never-ending waiting list! My daughter Macey and my niece Scarlett have also started showing last year, and together. So, it has also been a unique & fun experience to attend some show's with them just as a "Rabbit Show Mom" and not exhibit myself but to just "sit and watch"! They also show a very limited few Netherland Dwarf's that are of outstanding quality from my best friends Cesar and Trey from www.ctrabbitry.com They are constantly winning BIS, BOB, & BOS with them! I have been fortunate to attend a most Holland nationals and Conventions in the past years and we have always done very well. We have placed something at every Nationals and Convention we have ever been to. My most memorable win has been when our Main herd buck "Damien" won the Open SSB class at the ARBA Convention in Kansas 2003'! What an honor and and payback for all those years of hard work! I have placed nationally in Sweepstakes, Quality, Herdsman, and Zone 4. I was the Open Zone 4 director for the HLRSC for many years and I enjoyed working with such a great group of people that truly care about the future of this magical breed! We now have our Hollands all over Texas, the US, and Japan. They are consistantly winning many BIS's, BOB's, and BOS's. I want to Thank my Family and Friends for all of the support I have been given through the years. Without you encouraging me, spending countless hours babysitting so I may attend all those shows, I could have never come so far! BUT MOST OF ALL.... my husband Kelly. |
